About Me

I am a post-doctoral researcher in Medical Research Informatics at the Department of Epidemiology, University Medical Center Groningen. The project is documented on drugis.org.

I have a BSc and MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Groningen (with honor). The MSc thesis was done at the University of Southampton. I hold a PhD (with honor) in the Medical Sciences from the University of Groningen based on work conducted at the University Medical Center Groningen, the University of Groningen, and the University of Bristol. I have several years of part-time experience as a professional web developer and during my PhD I managed the Agile software development team that produced the ADDIS decision support system.

In my spare time I enjoy computer programming, computer games, sports, reading (especially popular science and maths), as well as cooking, enjoying a beer with friends and going out (or staying in) with my girlfriend. Check out my flickr photostream.
